You can find wine glasses anywhere for cheap (Marshalls, Target, Walmart) and if you are a true crafter, you already have a whole bin of acrylic paints. Just add in some paint brushes and an oven, and you're all set!
What you need:
- Clear, plain wine glasses
- Acyrlic paints (I have heard that paint pens work too)
- Paint brush
- Cookie sheet
1. Paint glasses
2. Place glasses on top of a cookie sheet that is covered in foil
3. Place into (cold) oven
4. Turn on oven to 350ºF
5. Turn off oven after 15 minutes
6. Leave in oven for 10 minutes before removing
I would recommend hand-washing! I gave these as a gift, so I don't know how well the paint holds up. Putting them in the oven is suppose to make the paint not chip as easily. I will have to check with Blair :)
Side note - excuse the lighting in these pictures. I just got a new camera and I have A LOT to learn!
Great Job! I thought you had to use an enamel craft paint for glass & ceramics? I've got tons of acrylics. It would be nice not to have to buy new paints. Happy Crafting!ReplyDelete
Very Nice Idea !! I have used Fevicryl Hobby Ideas acrylic color but I didnt put the glasses in the oven . the color has gone in one hand wash :(( is it because of the imperfect colors or because I didnt use oven . Please help me .ReplyDelete
Probably not baking it. That's why you are baking it to begin with....I think...lol but diff paints prob have diff outcomes. Would be cool to test one color in a few paint brands!Delete
Very cool but can I ask you for something elseReplyDelete

Non-toxic, For indoor and outdoor use , microwave safe so What do you recommend me ?
If you use DecoArt Gloss Enamels, let them dry 4 days, then put them in a 350 degree oven for 20 to 30 minutes, shut the oven off, open the door slightly and let them cool, you can wash them in the top level ov the dishwasher.ReplyDelete
do i have to let the paint dry before putting in the ovenReplyDelete
